Do you yearn to go deeper, integrate your intentions from your practice into everyday life and cultivate the skills to teach the healing art of yoga to others? In this program you will:

  • Develop a consistent yoga and meditation practice.
  • Identify your intentions then cultivate the daily habits to reach your goals with the support of a health coach.
  • Gain wisdom and study yoga history and philosophy to apply them to your life.
  • Learn about Ayurveda to cultivate self-awareness, health and bring bring balance.
  • Learn and practice the methodology including alignment principles, demonstrations and adjustments to teach yoga safely and effectively.
  • Learn by experience and step into the seat of teacher as you practice teaching in a safe and reflective environment.
  • Acquire business skills to help you start teaching and grow your classes.

Included in the program:

  • 230+ hours of study
  • 8 weekends together plus every other Sunday of yoga study with over 180 contact-hours
  • 3 one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Mentorship session 
  • Yoga for Conscious Living manual
  • Small group practice sessions to refine teaching skills
  • Open studio space for practice
  • Opportunities for karma yoga with teaching volunteer hours
Students are expected to complete:
  • 2 classes per week at Big River Yoga
  • 1 additional hour of small group mentorship studies
  • Personal practice and meditation logs/journal
  • Reading and writing assignments to deepen knowledge of the history and philosophy of yoga, Ayurveda, and the bio-mechanics of human anatomy 
  • 1 class observation at Big River Yoga

Big River Yoga is a local, independently owned yoga studio in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis.  Our mission is to awaken the consciousness of people to realize our interconnection.  We offer a variety of yoga classes for beginners, continuing and advanced students. We also offer monthly restorative yoga, Thai massage classes and a variety of workshops with visiting instructors.  Massage therapy complements our yoga offerings and we specialize in Thai Massage.  Our RTT (Registered Thai Therapist) and instructor, Chris Gordon, leads Thai massage trainings.
