This day-long workshop for mainstream classroom teachers identifies common ADHD-related learning and behavioral problems, the latest research about ADHD and executive function deficits, plus practical classroom techniques, helpful educational technology and academic and behavioral interventions to increase school success for students with ADHD. Continental breakfast and boxed lunch are provided.

The Training Will Provide:
• Information about the basic symptoms of ADHD.
• Classroom interventions that will help increase the academic success of students with ADHD.
• Organizational strategies to address typical behavioral problems
• Ways to change your classroom environment to be more supportive for students with ADHD.
• Each attendee will also receive the CHADD Educator’s Manual on ADHD: An In-Depth Look from an Educational Perspective.

Speakers:
Chris A. Zeigler Dendy, a popular author, former educator, school psychologist, children’s mental health professional with 45+ years’ experience, is the mother of three grown children and five grandchildren with ADHD. She and her late husband have provided training nationally and internationally. She has authored four popular books and two DVDs on ADHD. Her first book, Teenagers with ADD & ADHD has sold over 100,000 copies. Her latest book, Teaching Teens with ADD, ADHD, & Executive Function Deficits, 2nd ed, was released in 2011. In November of 2014, she received CHADD’s Lifetime Achievement Award; this is only the second time the award has been given. In 2006 she was inducted into CHADD’s Hall of Fame. As a volunteer, she was the lead author for the CHADD Educator's Manual and is a co-founder of CHADD's Teacher-to-Teacher program.

Anne Ellison is a past-president of the Board of Directors of CHADD, and former Chair of the Professional Advisory Board. She has authored and presented hundreds of papers, articles and books, including Interventions for ADHD: Treatment in developmental context (Guilford Press), and Clinical neuropsychological assessment and interventions for children (2nd edition) (Springer Science) with Margaret Semrud-Clikeman. In addition, Dr. Ellison was a co-editor of the CHADD Educator's Manual on Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: An in-depth look from an educational perspective with Chris Dendy and Mary Durheim; and, a co-author of Teacher to Teacher (T2T): ADHD Goes to School with Chris Dendy and Joan Helbing. Dr. Ellison is a Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is currently teaching at the University of South Carolina, Aiken. She was inducted into CHADD’s Hall of Fame in 2010.

Registration Cancellation by Participant The deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 30 days before the event (10/13.) Registration cancellations received prior to the deadline may be eligible to receive a refund less a $25 service fee. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellations will be accepted in writing only and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card.

CHADD - A Non-Profit Organization

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), is a national non-profit, tax-exempt (Section 501 (c) (3) ) organization providing education, advocacy and support for individuals with ADHD. In addition to our informative Web site, CHADD also publishes a variety of printed materials to keep members and professionals current on research advances, medications and treatments affecting individuals with ADHD. These materials include Attention magazine, News From CHADD, a free electronically mailed current events newsletter, as well as other publications of specific interest to educators, professionals and parents.

Today, children with ADHD are eligible for special education services or accommodations within the regular classroom when needed, and adults with ADHD may be eligible for accommodations in the workplace under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
