The Global Program in Occupational Health Practice aims at improving competencies on an introductory to medium level. The program does not focus on one particular country. It provides professional training using international guidelines and standards of care from a variety of countries. It specifically addresses company-level competencies so that health professionals will effectively contribute to the protection of employees. The recognition and prevention of occupational risks, diseases and accidents is the strong focus of this program.
Participants will be able to apply tools for risk assessment, develop preventive and corrective actions plans, investigate incidents such as accidents or outbreaks, evaluate fitness for work and participate in management processes such as certifications of emergency preparedness planning.
The program is designed for service providers or program managers in settings like occupational health clinics, unions, insurance companies, and governmental agencies who require more specialized training in occupational health and hygiene.
