In this workshop, we will learn about postural alignment and the most common variances. Each person will get a body scan and an assessment to help him or her find better alignment. Postural habits create specific neurological connections to the brain affecting how we feel throughout the day. Learning about alignment can help you obtain the maximum benefits of your yoga practice as well as prevent injuries.

The workshop will consist of discussion and practice. Delving deeper into yogic philosophy and Mind Body psychology, we will discover how our mindset or disposition is affecting our body. We will then work on alignment in standing and reclined poses. Each body is unique and everyone is a variation away from perfection, so come and learn more about your structural uniqueness.

Beginners to advanced yogis will benefit from this workshop.

Going into our 17th year, The Yoga & Movement Center (1379 Locust Street, Walnut Creek) is one of the preeminent yoga studios in the East Bay.  We are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek.  Ample parking is available across the street from our studio.

The Yoga & Movement Center offers a wide range of yoga and movement classes -- most, but not all, based on the therapeutic methods of B.K.S. Iyengar.  Currently we offer classes for all levels of yogis.  Students have more than a dozen teachers to choose from, and a variety of flavors of yoga to sample.

Our vintage studio is calming, transformative and welcoming.  We cater to the individual student and offer smaller class sizes.  We do not belong to a one-size-fits-all, corporate yoga chain.

If you work, shop or dine in Walnut Creek, begin or end your day with us.  We offer early morning, afternoon and evening classes to fit your schedule.  We are currently running a NEW STUDENT SPECIAL of 3 classes for $30.  We also offer year round workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings.

Located behind The Kitchen Table at 1379 Locust Street, Walnut Creek.  Follow the walkway along the side of the building.  If the door is locked, please take a flier with our schedule on it and come back to take a class soon! ...
