Additionally, they will understand the origins and history of attitudes and behaviors of a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds as they relate to substance use/abuse. Finally how to effectively treat clients from the various backgrounds covered in the text including various varieties of African American, Native and Latino American, European, Asian and Middle Eastern backgrounds.
