This course is designed to meet the requirements set forth in Regulation V/3 pa. 7 and 8, and STCW Section A-V/3 pa. 4 and 5.

  • A mariner who successfully completes this course will satisfy the Crisis Management and Human Behavior training requirements of 46 CFR 11.1105(a)(1)(iii): AND Paragraph 3 of A-V/2; AND, the competencies of table A-V/2 of the STCW, as amended 2010
Through classroom lecture, examples and practical exercises, the student will:
  • Organize shipboard emergency procedures
  • Optimize the use of resources
  • Control response to emergencies
  • Control passengers and other personnel during emergencies
  • Establish and maintain effective communications
There are no specific entry standards. However, all personnel having specific responsibilities on board detailed in Section A-V/2 and Section A-V/3 pa. 4 and 5 must undertake this training.

To pass this course a candidate must:
• Participate in class.
• Successfully complete the practical assessment.
• Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the written exam.

A course completion certificate will be issued to the student upon successful completion of all course requirements and assessments.
