Teaching Yoga to Students with Disabilities
Details
Have you ever thought about teaching someone with a disability, maybe even starting a yoga class for people with disabilities? Possibly you work with someone who lives with a disability and you think yoga might be good for him or her. Maybe someone has come to your yoga class and you were not sure where to begin. If so, this workshop will demonstrate that everyone, regardless of physical challenges, can practice yoga and that you can teach whoever walks or rolls into your class. This workshop is for yoga teachers and yoga students and caregivers who have a basic knowledge of yoga.
This workshop is presented to the public as part of the Advanced Studies/Teacher Training Program.

Going into our 17th year, The Yoga & Movement Center (1379 Locust Street, Walnut Creek) is one of the preeminent yoga studios in the East Bay. We are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. Ample parking is available across the street from our studio.
The Yoga & Movement Center offers a wide range of yoga and movement classes -- most, but not all, based on the therapeutic methods of B.K.S. Iyengar. Currently we offer classes for all levels of yogis. Students have more than a dozen teachers to choose from, and a variety of flavors of yoga to sample.
Our vintage studio is calming, transformative and welcoming. We cater to the individual student and offer smaller class sizes. We do not belong to a one-size-fits-all, corporate yoga chain.
If you work, shop or dine in Walnut Creek, begin or end your day with us. We offer early morning, afternoon and evening classes to fit your schedule. We are currently running a NEW STUDENT SPECIAL of 3 classes for $30. We also offer year round workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings.
Located behind The Kitchen Table at 1379 Locust Street, Walnut Creek. Follow the walkway along the side of the building. If the door is locked, please take a flier with our schedule on it and come back to take a class soon! ...
