The 4th Data Privacy Summit intends to be the biggest gathering of data protection professionals and legal practitioners in the country, providing an ideal venue for data protection regulatory updates, best practices, and pragmatic advice on data privacy compliance. There have been a handful of published incidents of privacy breaches recently, and there have been corresponding changes in the attitudes and approach of stakeholders in data privacy management. Moreover, there are issues of contention within the privacy practice, especially as regards ethical issues. This calls for an integrated, synergized stance to privacy concerns to go beyond compliance of private businesses, but also to gain customer trust and safeguard the person-centered global principles that DP law represents.
